ok i need someone to talk me off a ledge here. the scale has not moved in 6 WEEKS. not a single pound. but my jeans are looser and i can see my collarbone more. is the recomp actually working or am i just going crazy and seeing things that arent there

started lifting 2 months ago eating at maintenance and the scale went UP 4 lbs. i was supposed to be recomping not GAINING. my brain knows muscle is heavier than fat but my anxiety doesnt care about science. someone please reassure me before i go back to eating 1400 cals and running on the treadmill

psa for everyone freaking out about the scale: take your measurements. waist, hips, arms, thighs. i weigh EXACTLY the same as january but my waist is down 2 inches and my arms are up half an inch. the scale would have told me nothing changed. measurements told me everything changed

so i bought one of those smart scales that measures body fat % and its telling me im 28% one day and 24% the next. is this thing broken or am i actually fluctuating that much?? i spent $80 on this thing and now i trust it less than the $10 one i had before

everyone says high protein for recomp but what does that actually MEAN. ive seen everything from 0.7g per lb to 1.5g per lb and even 1g per lb of LEAN body mass which is a completely different number. im 180lbs probably like 22% bf. how much protein should i actually be eating

what training split are you guys running for recomp?? my trainer has me on a bro split (chest day, back day, etc) but everyone online says full body or upper lower is better for natural lifters. i can only go 4 days a week max. should i switch??

ok dumb question but how do i know if im progressively overloading correctly?? like do i add weight every session? every week? every month? and what if i cant add weight, does adding reps count? im 3 months in and my squat has been stuck at 95lbs for like 3 weeks and i feel like a failure

for recomp should i eat at exact maintenance or slight surplus on training days and slight deficit on rest days?? ive been seeing this calorie cycling approach everywhere lately and it sounds smart but also kinda complicated. right now im just eating the same every day at maintenance and wondering if im leaving gains on the table

GUYS. i can see my top 2 abs for the first time in my entire life. im 29 years old and ive never had visible abs before. same weight as when i started 8 months ago. this recomp thing is REAL. i literally stared at myself in the mirror for 10 minutes this morning like a weirdo. i dont even care

my coworker literally said to me today "have you lost weight you look amazing" and i said "nope actually gained 3 lbs" and the look on her face was priceless lmaoo. tried to explain recomp to her and she just stared at me blankly. but hey the compliment felt good ngl

recomp W of the week: just hit a 225lb deadlift PR at 140lbs bodyweight. 6 months ago my max was 185 and i was the same weight. getting stronger AND leaner at the same time. everyone who said you cant build muscle and lose fat simultaneously can kindly sit down

took my 10 month progress pics today and finally I CAN SEE IT. in the mirror day to day i see nothing. in monthly pics i see almost nothing. but comparing month 1 to month 10 side by side?? its like a different person. same weight. same scale. completely different shape. i almost gave up at month 4. so glad i didnt

real talk im 4 months into recomp and all my friends are doing aggressive cuts and losing like 2lbs a week and showing dramatic before and afters on instagram. meanwhile my scale hasnt moved and my progress is invisible. im so tempted to just say screw it and cut to 1200 cals. someone talk me out of it please

genuinely asking not trying to be negative but when did you guys actually START seeing visible recomp results?? because im 3 months in doing everything right (high protein, progressive overload, sleeping 8 hrs) and i look exactly the same. how long is this supposed to take bc my patience is running thin

im so tired of people telling me i should just "eat less and do more cardio" when i tell them im recomping. like my mom keeps saying i should go on a diet, my coworker keeps pushing keto on me, and some random guy at the gym told me im "eating too much for a girl trying to lose weight". sir i am not trying to lose weight i am trying to BUILD MUSCLE. the unsolicited advice is exhausting

can we talk about how hard recomp is mentally?? like physically im doing fine but mentally watching the scale not move while everyone around me is celebrating weight loss is genuinely hard. im recovering from disordered eating and recomp is helping me heal my relationship with food but some days i just wanna see a smaller number on the scale and feel "valid". anyone else struggle with this

some dude at the gym told me today that you literally cannot build muscle and lose fat at the same time and that recomp is a myth. said i need to either bulk or cut. is he right?? because everything ive read says otherwise but he was jacked so idk who to believe lol

ok real question. how important is sleep ACTUALLY for recomp? like i know everyone says its important but im a night owl getting maybe 5 to 6 hours most nights. my diet and training are on point tho. is the sleep thing overblown or am i actually sabotaging my gains by staying up till 2am

recovering cardio addict here lol. whats the actual deal with cardio during a recomp?? some people say zero cardio just lift. others say light cardio helps with fat loss. i used to run 5 miles every day and looked skinny fat so i KNOW too much cardio is bad. but is some cardio ok or will it interfere with muscle growth

someone told me that what i think is recomp is actually just newbie gains and that itll stop after 6 months and then ill have to pick bulk or cut. is this true?? like is recomp only a temporary beginner thing or can you keep doing it long term. bc if it stops working after 6 months i wanna know now
